Hosting Is My Love Language

Chelsea Green

I bake. I cook. I host. It’s how I show love — with a chilled glass of wine, a perfectly placed linen napkin, and that feeling when people walk into my home and instantly exhale.

I don’t host to impress. I host to connect. To create beauty. To make people feel cherished, relaxed, and just a little bit spoiled. It’s my favourite kind of magic.

Why I Host

There’s something sacred about opening your home. For me, it’s not just about entertaining — it’s about curating an experience. I love the preparation, the playlists, the candlelight, the clinking of glasses over a roast chicken.

It’s how I nurture my friendships. How I ground my family. How I celebrate life’s little milestones… or just a Tuesday. And yes, I always cook and bake everything myself. Every dish is made with care, from scratch, using only the best ingredients — always organic, always thoughtfully chosen, and always worth the extra cost. It’s only right.

The Luxury Mummy Style of Hosting

I don’t do shortcuts. I go all out. I am, proudly, the hostess with the mostess.

Expect gorgeous place settings, curated tableware, matching napkin rings to suit the theme, fresh seasonal flowers, soft linen runners, and that signature flicker of candlelight that makes everything feel warm and chic.

Blue and white, hydrangeas, and a very cold bottle

You’ll never find a cheap red or a bright pink rosé on my table — horrid! I would never disrespect my guests like that. It’s Whispering Angel, a velvety Burgundy, or nothing at all. People remember how you made them feel — and what you poured in their glass.

A Peek Into My Gatherings

Whether it’s a family BBQ with crispy-skinned lamb chops and lemony potato salad or a winter dinner party with truffle pasta and molten chocolate cake, the energy is always the same: thoughtful, polished, joyful.

The view that does half the work for me

I’ve hosted Sunday lunches that turned into storytelling marathons, and intimate dinners where the laughs were louder than the music. Hosting brings people to life — and that’s why I love it.

Hosting, for me, is never rushed or random. It’s an act of care. A ritual of love. I set the mood with music, keep the wine flowing, and dress like the woman I’d want to be invited by — polished, feminine, and ready to raise a glass.

There’s always intention. Always beauty. Always heart.

Because in this house, beauty is a language — and hospitality is how I speak it.
