Hey Luxury Lovers! Chopova Lowena showed AW26 — Too Ripe and Ready by Half — at the Crafts Council in Islington on Saturday 21 February, and it was not a runway at all. They built a surreal mini golf course through the gallery, handed every guest a putter, and let us wander between mannequins with floral cupcakes and petal-filled cocktails. Genius.
The idea
Regency dress codes and Regency slang, crossed with golf — putting green to fairway — and Britishness from Highland tartan to London chokers. Their girl, as they put it, is “learning Regency era slang and practicing her long game”. The mannequins were styled in period curls and dressed with help from V&A archive specialists.
The clothes
Softer and cuter than usual: knitted hoods with ears, one a black cat, one a dog begging for its supper, hands held up like paws. Basque-waist boned corset gowns in rich upholstery fabrics with beaded bows down the bodice. An elaborate golf-bag jacket with matching skirt, and gowns literally made from upcycled golf bags.

The signature carabiner kilts return, some with lace hems. Rainbow Fair Isle over clashing stripes, patchwork knits, crisp white blouses with rose sleeves, bubble sleeves with Peter Pan collars, black mourning dresses. Everything upcycled from their own past seasons — denim from 2021, camo from 2024, plaids from 2022, lace from 2025.
Accessories: cameos, pearls, chokers, carpet bags hung with charms, silver brooches, fur-trimmed knee-high boots and pom-pom Mary Janes. Plus a new line, Chopova Lowena Feelings — bras, knickers, tees and sweats with tiny poems printed across the bust.
My verdict
“We want to send a message of community and togetherness,” they said in the notes. You could feel it. Also: I want the cat hood.
