Hey Luxury Lovers! Let’s rewind to September 2024 and London Fashion Week SS25, when the city served us summer in every possible flavour. JW Anderson gave us a masterclass in modern prettiness, Roksanda took us up to a rooftop, 16Arlington threw a confetti-covered party, and Nensi Dojaka made the comeback of the season. Pour yourself something cold and let’s get into it.
JW Anderson
Jonathan Anderson called it “modern prettiness”, and he got there by doing less. He worked from a deliberately reduced library of materials — silk satin, cashmere, a single leather, one type of embroidery — which made every silhouette look razor sharp.
The fun was in the tricks. Mini dresses were printed with trompe l’oeil hoodies and sweatshirts, skirts jutted out in leather and silk satin, and knitwear was blown up to cartoonish proportions in chunky argyle. Clever, witty and completely wearable.
Roksanda
Roksanda showed on the rooftop of Space House in Holborn, with all of London laid out around the runway. Inspired by the artist Agnes Denes and the tension between nature and the city, the collection played strict tailoring against pure fluidity.
Think elegant lace head scarves, outerwear sliced away to reveal the body, dramatic ruffles and raffia details. Roksanda’s gift has always been colour and volume, and this season she made structure feel romantic.
16Arlington
After a few darker seasons, 16Arlington went back to its fun, sexy spirit. Creative director Marco Capaldi covered the entire venue in white confetti and built a collection around sun, celebration and dancefloor escapism.
Languid silhouettes borrowed from swimwear and sarongs, with flourishes of colourful feathers and glimmering florals, all in yellow, deep orange and hot pink — the colours of sunrise and sunset. It made me want to book a holiday immediately.
Nensi Dojaka
Nensi Dojaka returned after a year away with a show at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, and it was worth the wait. Her signature lingerie-inspired eveningwear was all there: intricate criss-crossing straps, bra tops, slip dresses, bodysuits, ruffles and delicate florals.
And the surprise? A collaboration with Calvin Klein, revealed partway through the show. Sensual, delicate and very, very chic.
SS25 was London at its most joyful. Whether you’re a lace-and-ruffles girl or a slip dress devotee, remember: style is your superpower. And darling, you wear it so well.
Until next season,
