Roksanda AW26: Sculpture, Silk and a Dinner at Claridge’s

Chelsea Green

Hey Luxury Lovers! A little housekeeping first: Roksanda did not stage a catwalk for AW26. The collection arrived as a lookbook, with a BFC dinner at Claridge’s on Friday 20 February instead — which, frankly, is a very chic way to show a collection.

The clothes

Waist-cinching tailored blazers, several with carved circular cut-outs at the back. Open backs, asymmetric cuts, square-cut tops, gathered detailing. Coats oversized at the shoulder and narrowed at the wrist. Dresses draped around the body in fabrics light enough to fold and twist as you move.

Crisp silk and taffeta, with silk scarves threaded through the garments — a vivid pink one against a burgundy gown was my favourite moment. Neutral browns opening into vivid blues and greens, luminous pink, deep burgundy and cobalt. One ruffled dress flaring sharply at the hips, worn to the dinner in cobalt by Erin O’Connor.

Reported inspiration: the Venetian architect-designer Carlo Scarpa, and the way he mixed natural and man-made materials.

My verdict

Nobody puts colour together like Roksanda. If you have one good cobalt dress in your wardrobe you are halfway to a whole personality.
